Venice Beach, California. :: photos by withabrokenhalo.

I put this outfit together on a whim this morning, and I actually ended up really liking how it came together. I’ve always loved the way fishnet tights can look so punk/rocker chick with the right outfit, and after having a pair that didn’t really work in the ways I wanted it to (when the holes are too small or too big it looks weird), I finally found a pair that looked great!

I’ve seen them in vintage or costume shops most often; in the vintage shops they’re still new, but tend to be better priced. They’re also, of course, in stores like Hot Topic and such.

Jean shorts and Converse high tops were the obvious next choice for me; I’ll go for the high tops over the low when I’m not wearing long pants, and I especially liked the way they look with the fishnets.

As for the top, I decided against a fitted band t-shirt, as I normally would wear, and went instead for something more open, since it was supposed to be on the hotter side as far as the weather today (and it was). The shirt was actually from Target; it has a crew neck and wider sleeves and says “Rock N Roll Forever” with a filigreed skull. It’s pretty comfortable, too.

As for the accessories, the tooth necklace and rings came from H&M; the studded bracelet is homemade. You can buy the band, studs, glue, and magnet clasp in specialty stores like Michaels. This bracelet happens to have been a gift, so I didn’t make it myself, though I do know it’s very simple and easy.

Finally finished the wall above my headboard! :D I’ll post a picture of the other wall once it’s finished as well (which will probably be a while from now).
